Homemade healthy granola for breakfast, snack or desert anyone?
This homemade healthy granola recipe can be enjoyed with some creamy nut milk with fruits or can be used as the topping on a bowl of yogurt. It makes for an easy peasy breakfast, snack or desert for the whole family! No wonder I like it! 😉
Now there are SO many different ways you can go about creating your granola mix and that’s what makes it so much fun! Being able to use whatever you have on hand and having the flexibility to change things up to fulfill your desires and needs is just- awesomeness.
I love this recipe because there is a little of everything in the mix which means I am supporting my body in all the ways. Don’t hesitate to swap and change the ingredients depending on what you have on hand and what you enjoy! Here’s a few swap examples: dried raisins for dried cranberries, slivered almonds for chopped walnuts, frozen berries for apple chunks….

Alright now let me share with you the one I whipped up this week and have been enjoying in my morning bowl, as an afternoon snack or a desert after supper 🙂
Granola Ingredients
-2 cups of oatmeal or quinoa flakes (I did half and half)
-1 tbsp of sesame seeds
-½ cup each of ground flax, cut up nuts (i used almonds) and pumpkin seeds
-2 tbsp of sweetener of choice (I used 1 coconut sugar and 1 molasses)
-2 tsp of cinnamon
-1 tbsp of ginger spice (optional)
-1tsp each of nutmeg spice, vanilla extract and himalayan salt
-½ cup of dried raisins
-1 cup of oil (I used half coconut oil and avocado oil)
-½ cup of frozen berries (I used blueberries)
Granola Instructions
-Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
-Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
-Prep a long baking sheet with parchment paper or reusable silicone sheet…
-Spread your granola mix throughout the pan evenly.
-Bake for 20 minutes and slightly mix everything at minute 10
-Once granola is cooked to your liking let it cool for 5-10 minutes without touching the mixture.
-Once cooled off, add to the freezer or fridge for about 10-15 minutes (IF you want your granola to be a little more “chunky”.
-And enjoy my darling 🙂
I like to keep my granola in the fridge in a large glass jar for about a week or so, if it holds till then. lol
